OKExChain successfully launches mainnet, onboards more partners
OKExChain testnet upgraded to v0.15.0 as Waves, Achain and DoraHacks are onboarded
A monthly progress report for OKExChain in November 2020
OKExChain is a public blockchain initiative developed by OKEx that comprises a set of open-source chains that can be used as a platform for decentralized applications, including decentralized exchanges. For more detailed information, check out our guide to OKExChain.
November has been an eventful month for the OKExChain ecosystem.
First and foremost, the OKExChain testnet has been upgraded to v0.15.0 and is coordinating with the community to prepare for the testnet upgrade. Cryptocurrencies traded on OKExChain have seen their decimal places upgraded from 8 to 18, which will help reduce trading fees.
Secondly, the Ethereum Virtual Machine smart contract development has reached 95% completion. The EVM of Ethermint has been integrated into OKExChain and is currently undergoing internal testing.
Additionally, the OKExChain liquidity-mining Farm module has completed its functional testing and successfully met the product requirements. The testing included bug recoveries and code audits.
Furthermore, OKExChain announced ecological partnerships with Waves, Achain and DoraHacks. The OKExChain ecosystem now has more than 30 partners. Organized by DoraHacks, OKExChain is participating in its 2020–2021 international hackathon, which started in November.
- OKExChain updated to v0.15.0
- Cosmos SDK updated to v0.39.2 and Tendermint to v0.33.9
- OKExChain-go-SDK updated to v0.13.0
- Compatible with OKExChain v0.15.0
- OKExChain-java-SDK updated to v0.15.0
- compatible with OKExChain v0.15.0
OKExChain testnet upgraded to v0.15.0
OKExChain's testnet upgraded to v0.15.0. For the cryptocurrencies traded on OKExChain, their decimal units have increased from 8 to 18 — paving the way for lower trading fees denoted in smaller decimal units.
Additionally, the OKEx DEX code has been updated to v0.15.0, which fixes some bugs and improves product stability. Likewise, the OKT blockchain explorer has been updated to v0.15.0, which is compatible with OKExChain v0.15.0.
EVM smart contract development reaches 95% completion
The Ethereum Virtual Machine smart contract development has reached 95% completion. The EVM of Ethermint has been integrated into OKExChain. Deployment and invocation on OKExChain are supported and compatible with Remix and MetaMask wallets, and they are currently undergoing internal testing. You can read more about it here: https://github.com/okex/okexchain/tree/release/v0.15.0
Additionally, OKExChain has proposed five bug fixes to the Ethermint team. All proposals have been accepted:
- Ethermint Github - Issue 605
- Ethermint Github - Issue 617
- Ethermint Github - Issue 618
- Ethermint Github - Issue 621
- Ethermint Github - Issue 626
OKExChain partners with Waves, Achain and DoraHacks
OKExChain onboarded Waves, Achain and DoraHacks as new ecological partners in November. The OKExChain ecosystem now has more than 30 partners.
The partnership with Waves connects OKExChain to more public blockchains and builds a more robust cross-chain decentralized finance ecosystem. The partnership also enables cross-chain asset transfers and provides developer-friendly tools.
The partnership with Achain facilitates intercommunication between decentralized applications and OKExChain's integration into the Achain Galaxy ecosystem.
Finally, OKExChain is now an official partner of DoraHack's Global Hackathon 2020–2021, which started in November 2020 and will finish in December 2021. The hackathon gathers top blockchain developers in Beijing, Hangzhou, Silicon Valley, Boston, Denver, Oslo, Cambridge, Berlin and Zurich.
